So you had a dyno run by a tuner you trust. Does he think its a bad tune and he can fix it? Have seen other builds with "canned" maps being a bit lazy. 50 hp is really low though. Sumping, may be...
I see a couple of potential issues. The stock heads, the canned map, and possible sumping. Even with the stock heads, your numbers should be much higher, so I'm thinking it's a combination of a bad tune (get a TTS and do it yourself!) and a sumping issue.
i have recently had a big bore and cam install but the problem is on the dyno,
only ended up with 50 hp and 85 torque.
my build is 96" to 103" using wiseco k1751 dished pistons,
stock heads
red shift 575 cams
K&N filter
bub jug hugger exhaust.
PCV bought from fuel moto.
the bike is a 2007 night train.
thanks in advance
Who did this build?? You never mention what compression the bike was set at,or if the heads were CC'd to get the comp right. The tune is probably very poor also. You should have it checked. You also need to do a leak down test, & check & make sure your not sumping oil also!!!
Sounds like something very wrong somewhere, my 96 inch stock engine made 68 hp and 84 torque. After the stage II 103 kit install it now makes 92 hp and 106 torque.
Something is not right which I'm sure you know by now.
I'm still teaching myself about working my bike, but if it was a car, I'd say cam choice/matched with heads/lower than stock compression/tuning could all be players.
Also agree with checking for sumping. I've seen oil bleed alot of power off a crank without a windage tray (Also on old muscle cars).
thanks for the input guys,
this sort of build is really used on road kings etc, i want a cruiser more than a
hotrod as i use the motorways a lot.
well it sounds like a rip down.....
all the best lads.
