I have a 2010 Fatboy, with a set of Vance and Hines BSS and a Screaming Eagle Ventilator Air Cleaner. I am having a heck of a time trying to get the Cobra tuner adjusted properly so that my bike runs smoothly at all speeds and types of riding. The folks at Cobra say that the normal settings for my bike with the equipment that I have on it are 1.5, 5, and 5. However, when I ride my bike and am trying to cruise without pulling the throttle much, it misses and even occasionally backfires. This happens mostly when I am cruising slowly in first gear in a parking lot, but will happen in higher gears as well if I am cruising at the bottom range of speed for that particular gear and not giving it hardly any gas. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so can you offer any suggestions? I've tried consulting Cobra, and they recommended trying to move the middle setting up to 5.5, then 6, then 7. None of these settings seem to make a difference. They also suggested moving the first setting up to 2, and that too made little or no difference.
I should also note that my bike seems to run worst when I have taken a ride and got it warmed up, and then I get off the bike and let it sit for a while (20 minutes or more) and cool down. When I get back on, that is when it rides the worst.
Don't expect a low end, add fuel only system to work like a full tuning system.
We all learned a long time ago U get what U pay for.
there's probably lots of happy owners of all the different kinds of systems,
but I've also read lots of those who bought the add fuel only. later go to a better full tuneable system.
seems like as long as U adde pipes only they do pretty good, any more mods and trouble can start.
