Depends on what province your in bro. Alberta, and I think BC, is a 8" x 5". You can't get away cutting it down to fit American Holders. Saskatchewan is 4" x 7.5". I still own a house in SK so I had my bike insured there because of the smaller plate, lol. I bought a Plate holder from Top Down Products, a Roto-Plate and trimmed it. Even just trimming off a 1/4 inch on each side though, the letters barely fit inside the illuminated cover and part of my end letter "L" has most of the _ covered by the screw hole so I am worried I might get a ticket. I also had to redrill all my screw holes for the plate as none line up. Incase you aren't aware, this is illegal and any modification of your license plate can have you asking for a ticket but I was out of options.

Dennis at Top Down Products is great and if you give him the measurements of your plate he would probably be happy to build one to your size and screw hole specs, but it will probably cost you some additional coin.

Other then that I didn't have much luck in my search. The biggest problem is Canada doesn't have a universal size plate for bikes, let alone the same size as the states. Check with your local Harley dealer incase some local fab shops make one for them but I didn't have any luck.

OK, I have been waiting to let this news out, but I can not keep a secrete to save my life. Anyway, here at Top Down Products we have developed and fabricated (2) custom Roto-Plate Jr's specifically for our Canadian Neighbors. It's a Roto-Plate Jr style with just license plate illumination. We have been calling it internally Roto-Plate Big Bro. I don't have any pictures yet but the first unit has been shipped to a customer and we are awaiting pictures. Since we are unsure of the demand, we are considering this to be a custom order, so the time frame will be longer since it will not be a stock item...at least not immediately. If the demand is there we will produce larger qtys and have a stock of them.

If you have an interest in the Roto-Plate Big Bro, email me and I can provide more details and write up a custom unit order. We are excited about the Big Bro, we believe there is no other mount like the Roto-Plate combined with the 5 x 8 option, it will be the only product on the planet like it!

Dennis, this information would have proved VERY useful about a month ago, lol... Damnit...

Anyways, that is great, we are really limited to options up here.

Just so you know, one of the two 5 x 8 that we made is a swap out. The customer ordered a Jr and was not comfortable with the cut down. He was willing to wait to install until I got him the 5 x 8 parts.

Assuming you have a Roto-Plate Jr, I would be willing to work with you on a swap out. We would make the 5 x 8 backplate and frame, you would remove and replace the existing 4 x 7 backplate and frame. There would be additional $$$ for the difference in part costs, refinishing of your old parts, etc. Also in your case, unfortunately, your license plate is cut and you would need to get a new one issued.

Just thought I would mention it, sorry for the timing, just that the demand has not been there and it may never be there. This is just a trial to see interest.

Thank You Dennis, That is what I am looking for. There is a company on the island( Vancouver Island) that makes a holder but wont work in my application as I have a Performance machine Phatail kit and it will have to be mounted to the swing arm as there is no axle bolt exposed.

So you are thinking Swing Arm Clamp, what is the tube size? Looks like a standard softail swing arm.

The swing arm is from Performance Machine and is 1 1/8" as far as I can tell.
Under the cover plate you see, there is a lobe not a bolt or nut.
