Default dash not working

help, I have a 99 fatboy and cannot get the speedometer and odometer to work. I replaced the circuit breakers under the seat and have checked all connections but still cannot get it to work. the dash lights come and the trip meter read 0.0 but it doesn't work otherwise. any leads or fixes?

I realize this is an older thread, but I don't see any answers, and I have the same problem with my 2003 Night Train....

The speedometer doesn't work, and the odometer stays at the present reading.

Is this a "sensor" type of malfunction?

I would unplug my speedo and see if the connections are wet. Put some dielectric grease on the connectors to ensure this does not happen anymore.

Dr V-Twin is right on the mark... 9 out of 10 times what you are describing has to do with the connectors under your dash. Undo the dash... take the time to undo each connector and reconnect using dielectric grease. Problem solved, usually.
