Default Considering Carlini 14" Fliyin Apes??

I was considering a bar change this winter but I was hit a couple weeks ago and it did $10,400 worth of damage so the issue has come up sooner than expected. I am considering the 14" bars but I am concerned about height. I am only 5'6" and I don't want them any higher than my shoulders. I would actually like them even or a little lower than my shoulders. I have read the Carlini bars are a little higher than advertised. I will probably use Carlini risers also...probably the Boob Risers. They have a 12" in the Flyin Apes but they are 1.25" and I would rather have the 1.50" bars. Any help is most appreciated.

The risers I have for the 1.5" bars are a bit taller than stock, and the bars are definitely a little taller than advertised. Still a great product any way you toss it though. If you want Carlini order direct through them as they are tightening up their distributorship. talk to Rex, he will take good care of you. A righteous dude all the way. (714)432-9000. Tell him Drew from Dr. V-Twin sent you. I can get you all the cables and wiring extensions you need. last I heard they do not sell cables or wiring extensions.

Personally, I think you should go with 12" from what you say you want. I am 5'7" and have Wild 1 Chubbys 12.5" and I am just below shoulder height (right where you say you'd like to be). Plus, Carlinis are even taller than normal. Just my opinion. You can see where my hands are in my album if you'd like. I just think 14" will put you at shoulder height at the minimum and maybe even above. Hope this helps.

I have to agree with Steve. I think at your height you'd be better off with 12.5's. I have the same Wild 1 Chubby 12.5's on my Rocker and I love them. I'm a hair under 6 foot and they are a little below shoulder height for me.
PS: I'm not knocking Carlini as they make a great product as well but I have Wild 1 bars on both of my bikes and the quality is incredible and they are extremly helpful if you have questions.

Are you kidding? They want to make the extra money on each set of bars as opposed to selling to us at dealer cost.

I just put the flyin 14's on my softtail custom. They are about shoulder height, maybe a bit higher. I am 5' 11".

14" Fly'in Apes here as well. 6' tall and the grips are just above my shoulders... And my C&C solo drops me down over an inch as well. See my sig pic below.

Thanks guys, all good info. When you went with the 12.5" Wild 1 Bars how much longer than stock were the cables? This will be my next hurdle figuring out the correct cable length.
