Default Check out the Heritage rider backrest

I bought a used studded Mustang backrest on ebay for $49.00, missing most of the mounting hardware. Mama had been looking for something that would work on a 2010 Heritage that would fold forward and not break the bank. Very few options out there. She wanted lower back support and to be pushed forward a little. I knew I would need to fab up some way to mount it but didn't think it would be so easy. Check it out!

Sure, but I'm not sure it'll be the same on your Fatboy. My wifes bike is a 2010 and the seat pan on the rider portion of the seat extends back behind the seat about an inch and a half. I drilled two holes in the pan for the bracket that you can see in the pic, and I used threaded inserts up from the bottom of the pan to hold the screws. The bracket that you see attached to the backrest is the one that came with it.

If your seat comes apart (I used to have a Fatboy and can't remember!) and the pan extends backward beyond the seat, you would have the same area to work with. Very easy, I did it in the garage last night and had it mounted up within 45 minutes of opening the package.

It pushes her forward quite a bit, which is exactly what she wanted (needed), but it's too far forward for me. If it were mine I would simply bend the bracket backward a little bit to conform better to the front of the passenger pillion. Backward motion is stopped by the pillion.
