Default Shock bolts..

Someone give me the secrete to breaking these things loose.

Was hoping to get my 422's installed tonight but I can not get those bolts loose to begin to get the old shocks off. Any tips are appreciated. Also if there is any other good tips to go along with the removal and installation please let me know.

Thanks guys.

bike up big crescent wrench, position the wrench properly , hit it with a heavy rubber mallet, or heat it first, most probably red loctite

Ya heating them up is pretty necessary. Then... just keep pounding and pounding as they will break loose at some point. The left one (primary side) is the worse... hardest to get to and worse angle to hammer at.

I got mine on last week and have been doing the tweaking now.

Don't worry. You will get them. Just when you feel you can't swing the hammer anymore they will break loose.

I'll get some heat on there.

I have blue loctite. Should I use the red instead?
