Default 12" Fat Mini-apes for my Fat Boy

I'll be putting these on shortly.

Couple questions:

1. How difficult is this job? I'm very handy and have a decent array of tools.
Stealer quoted 8 hours ($625.00) just for the labor. WTF?!?!
No f#$% way am I payin that to change handlebars!

2. The HD site isnt exactly clear on exactly which part numbers are for the additional parts needed. they say "Not availalble" for the brake lines, and for the switch wire and signal wire extensions they just list a length in inces but no part numbers.
I dont want anything fancy or expensive. Just regular OEM parts, cables, wires, and hoses.

anyone have a straight up tutorial on how to do this upgrade, and a list of the other parts I'll need?

Thanks!

Get +6 cables and a Novello wiring extension. Also get Polyurethane riser bushings. With that you should be good to go.

I just fitted these to my standard and internally wired the bars, its an easy job took me under 2 hours and that was fitting a new chrome master cylinder and bleeding the brake. You will love the feel they are so comfortable.

Should be able to do it yourself. You will need to disconnect everything from the gas tank except the front crossover line and then you will be able to pull the tank back far enough to access all of the wires you will need. Then just take your time. If you do not have a manual yet go buy one with the $600 they are planning to charge you. Good Luck and remember if you get stuck post on here someone will have answers.

Forgot if you are changing the clutch cable pull the exhaust. Don't waste time trying to get the tranny cover off behind the pipes.

Good advice here. Slide the tank instead of removing it completely, what a PITA that is with the crossover.
