Put 18,000 on my stock tire, so went with the same tire got 8,000 on that ansd it looks almost new. This is an 06 Heritage Classic. Front tire I change just cause of age it did not need changed.
Same here. I have an 08 Heritage Classic with 19,800 miles and I am having my rear tire replaced for the first time. Front tire still has a lot left, but when I have the 20k service performed in the next couple of weeks I will have the front replaced just due to tire age.
I'm on my third replacement 200mm rear on my '06 Softail. Most I've gotten from my D407 Dunlop is 7k and change. To those who chime in about their narrower tire milage, it's irevelent, tires 180 and larger DO NOT GET the same mialge as narrower tires because they are softer compund for handling, wider patch tires need softer rubber for handling. There;s the odd claim of over 10k on 200mm or largr tires but I scratch my head on those, you either ride like an old lady or maybe your talking kilometers...
I agree....09 Night Train with 200/55r17. Dunlop or Metz makes no difference. I'm lucky to get 5.5k & heard from other N.T. riders that get about the same. I do ride interstate so it could be the different asphalt surfices plus high road temp. in areas that I ride. I've been through 2 Dunlop 407's & now my Metzeler is ready for the tire heap.
Next set of tires will be Michelin Commander II's just before I head out west.
from what Ive read the new 200 is gone in 3-6K on the ST's,,, depending on how U ridke...
I went almost 10k on the Dunlop and almost 14k on Avons. with a 200. tire wear depends so much on how you ride it. 2 up, loaded, some ride hard or rather are hard on tires . air pressure is very important too I check mine all the time, that is the most important thing

road temp and interstates lessen the mileage you get on your tires.. I ride very little highway and ride secondary roads where they are in the shade so the asphalt temps are not as high.

Sorry but what I meant by riding interstate was that I ride through many different states-not much interstate highway riding. I like to stay on 2 lane roads(more scenic)so you get alot of different types of pavement & road temps.
