No warranty...bought it with 3100 miles on it from a guy last year who bought it on a whim and realised that with the other 2 Harleys in the garage he really didnt need it...so he fire saled it to me 4k under book...so I got it and then had the purple and silver flames painted on it to carry over the colors from my R/T Dak
Ok...if you say its normal...lol....here is what it looks like after 3 days of 88-94 degrees in the sun
Once up inside moisture will have a hard time getting out since it needs to evaporate and go out the small vent holes on the bottom. I doubt the top side is loose or it would dry out quickly in the sun. You need to pull it if it does not dry out in the sun in 2 days and look carefully at the top area with it out of the dash. If it looks OK turn it over and leave it in the sun. It will dry out. Put it back together and if it does it again buy you a new Speedo head. With the deal you got it will be small change and then you will be able to enjoy you bike more. I do not let little things bother me but that much moisture is the worst I have seen since I worked on a Harley that went under 5' of Isabella tide water.
Take it apart as suggested earlier and fix the moisture problem... even when they do just dry out by themselves they leave marks on the inside of the glass. Why do so many people just accept it because "it's normal"... it's normal because HD gets them from the lowest bidder and they are built to lousy specifications when it comes to being moisture repellent. Don't accept something as "normal" when you can simply make it better............
It is normal. It may not be acceptable, but the electronics are immersed in a bath of resin and if >that< is done properly, you won't have any trouble from the moisture... it's just ugly. I took my old one apart when the speedo quit working just to see if I wanted to fix my replacement speedo... and decided against it. I didn't try a modified paint can opener... just used a screw driver. If you break your glass taking yours apart, I have an extra one.

Just wondering... did the first one quit working because it wasn't built or maintained properly... probably got moisture in it and quit... just saying.
Well on day 4 it went ahead and finally cleared up...lol Ive been in rain before but that storm was a nice kansas downpour...it formed right over where I work and then backfilled as it dumped...1.96 inches of rain in 35 min. I got 3 miles from work and it was sunny. should have seen the looks from oncoming traffic...they are driving in nice sunny weather, and here comes the drown rat on the bike LOL
