Springer owners?
a bunch of google searching turned up nothing on springers and touring bikes , road kings , etc. , but i'd love to see a road king classic with a springer front end , big fat front tire and fender and windshield rather than batwing . throw on a set of true duals with fishtails and a police style air ride seat and i might just have to buy one !
Had mine for 5 years and can't imagine not having it. No problems at all.
The only downside is if you follow the factory recommendations for maintenance (which I think you should) you will be servicing the steering head and lower fork rockers every 2500 miles.
For me it's worth the time it takes to do it to keep my forks in top condition. I don't think you will find a better ride than a Springer fork.
A big plus is if you get bored during a ride you can watch the forks working. hehehe.

I'm glad to hear what you'll are saying . I've been looking for awhile and last saturday the subject came up about a second bike and my wife is ok with it. imagine that. I figured she'd raise hell and that would be the end of that but low and behold not even 1 cross word about it. Maybe she's give up on bitchin.
Springers are very comfortable in my opinion. This image is from of a 6hr ride, solely through national forest roads and country back roads that skirt and circle the Blue Ridge Mts. Ride quality is incredible even on bad roads. No fatigue or discomfort at all.
