Default TTS Mastertune or Thundermax w/ auto-tune?

I know there is alot of info on here about both units. I've done searches and got a lot of good info, and people that have them all seems happy. my intention is not to start a big debate as to which is better. What I would like is if anybody has had both units as to the pros or cons of them. I like the idea of the TTS and keeping my stock ECM, but I'm worried I might not have the smarts to figure it out. Looking at the info I've found the Thundermax seems a little more user freindly. Bottom line is I'm on the fence and I need someone to push me off. Any comments?

I have a TMax/AT and I ride everyday. I'd say do you want to tinker or just have a great day riding? As to which unit to get.

From the posts on TTS, the TMax would be cheaper in the long run, if your time has any value.

TTS is more tinkering and Thundermax is more of a plug and play system. I prefer plugging it in and riding. I can get you either one, but I can get a much better price on Thundermax. PM for details.

I had the ThunderMax on my Sportster and I currently have the TTS on my Street Glide.

The ThunderMax was fine, but it did suffer from some quirks and there were many software updates to fix these quirks....
As for the TTS, once installed and performed 3 Vtune sessions, the bike felt wonderful. I haven't had to plug in the computer since (it's been about a year now).
Stage 1 bagger running about 45 MPGs and smooth as silk...

tinkering is a good thing. There are forum members who can guide you using the TTS Tuner. Why ditch a perfectly good ECM?

Don't worry about that ... read the manual take it easy. Is not that difficult at all.

Also if you go for the Thundermax with Autotune you are looking at about $ 900,

If you go for the TTS Mastertune you are looking at about $425 + $79 for the Serial to USB cable.

I'm sure the Doctor can get you a better price for both, but still a big difference.

You can download the manuals of both systems in PDF format. Just read them and see for yourself which one is the most tinkering.

Keep us informed on what you get and how you like it. I too have been looking into getting the TTS but I'm no computer whiz and will need all the input from more knowledgable forum members.

one thing i like about the TM is i take the stock ecm as spare part on long trips. i have never had to use it but nice to have a spare ecm. yes you can play with the TM settings for your kind of driving.

Thanks all. I'm leaning towards the TTS- mostly because most that have them love them, and the half the price thing isn't bad either.
