Wife just got her new ride. Would like to add a quick-release windshield. She is only 5'3" and would prefer a short windshield. The HD ones seem pretty tall. Any recommendations for alternatives would be appreciated.
Or get an HD one cut down to whatever height you want. I got one off E-bay, that was a smoked 19" cut down to 15". Looks great. Hate windshields though, I only use it in the colder months to cut down on breeze...
I'd also recommend doing the cut down. However...let her use it tall for a bit and see how she likes it? My wife has the detachable on her Deluxe and hasn't wanted it cut down as yet. She doesn't mind looking through it. More protection from stones and crud. Just keep it in nice shape and you don't even notice that you're looking through it.

+1 I know you're supposed to look over the windshield but I'm short and look right through it. I also have a huge scratch right at eye level. Thought about cutting it down which will remove the scratch but it works perfectly fine for me the way it is. Plus you get that little bit of extra protection.
Memphis shades, first one I had was 14 inches, the wind hit me right in the eyes, went to 19 inch and all is fine. Once you cut it too short it's too late.

i know what you mean i was running the 21"stock one and cut it down to 151/2 i look over it know but i get allot of wind from underneath it that i didn't feel with the taller one.It looks allot better though.after a while looking through it used to make me a little blurry.
I read that looking through was Ok as long as your line of vision wasn't right at windshield height. Just have to keep it clean. I look through mine and don't mind no bugs in the face. The ones that get by the windshield ricochet off the top of my helmet. You may want to check out the chrome fork wind deflectors. Stopped the wind from blowing up in my face from down lower.
