The weather certainly could have been better, but we had a great time despite it. Managed to do all the exhibits more than once, got in some beautiful riding when we could. Made the best of it!

Can't say we ran into any dinks, mostly real nice folk. Had some neighbors from Montreal at our motel that we thought were rather dinkish at first, turned out 3 of the 4 spoke no English. Once we realized that we gave them the benefit of the doubt.

As for rude behavior and bad tippers, I know plenty of non-Montreal folk who fit that description.

We plan on going back next year, and yes, certainly hope the weather is as nice as it was in 2009. What we are afraid of is the young pups who basically go there just to get drunk and get rowdy, and hope they don't ruin Americade so that it goes the way of Myrtle Beach Bike Week. Oh yeah - and the sport bike riders. Wait - they were one in the same. young pups on sport bikes who went there to get drunk and rowdy. Other than THAT, Americade is a great week, lots of good events to go to, and some of the most gorgeous riding to be had, at least in this part of the country.l

We were up Monday – Saturday and stayed dry most of the week. Wed was wet all day and it poured on the ride home, but the other days we managed to avoid the rain clouds. Six of us rented a house 20 minutes outside Lake George so we avoided all the turds. Didn't even make it into the vender area…same stuff year after year so we decided to ride instead. Also, this year there didn't seem to be as many bikers on the roads.

That will probably be the last Americade trip for a couple years. It's time for a change of scenery. We are going to look into a trip to Tennessee and ride Deals Gap.

New scenery is right, americade is getting very old. Laconia might be a good change of scenery.

We did Laconia a few times...that's why we switched to Americade. Last year while at Americade we even rode over to NH and went to Mount Washington. Definitely time to head south.

Thanks Texas!! A true voice of reason!

I myself have always found the people of the good old USA to be most hospitable and polite and very much service oriented. I reciprocate and tip generously and guess what? I'm from Montreal...

I know not all montrealers are bad, but these friggin' people were friggin’' annoying. They came in the restaurant and started singing in French. Who the hell wants to hear that when their eating in a very nice restaurant. The wait staff informed us about the tipping part and being rude, we saw that ourselves. The owner of the place calmly when over and read them their rights, which didn't include singing.
Coyote
ps -pass on the coming up there, I don't speak French.
