On my FXSTS I have the V&H longshots.I want something different, and louder.I'am looking at the big radius,I really like the look and they seem to sound pretty loud.Has anyone heard the Python version of the radius, and are they the same exact pipe without V&H's stamp on them?
However, if you are mainly wanting a different look, the big radius look really good. Also look into the sideshots...I like them as well.
I would advise to go V&H, as Python is their one-off. However, Pythons are "supposed" to be louder, according the parts dept. at my local HD store...just not as high quality.
I love my Propipe. Sounds great to me. If you're looking for LOUD though, you might have to change baffle or something.
Dont get me wrong, I can hear it just fine, but not as sharp a bark as my wife's shortshots, just a different sound. To me it sounds like a nice rumble from a big motor musclecar while hers is leaning toward the sharp bark of of an 32 T-bucket hot rod or soemthing with open exhaust.
Both the Big Shots Staggered and Big Radius from Vance and Hines are loud with stock baffles installed, and look good. I like my Staggered's cause they have the power chamber, which acts a little like 2 into 1's (or so V&H's claims), and yes, they are loud.
Might check out Samson pipes if you want loud(er). I've seen Samson clones of the V&H pipes that, to me, sounded louder. Or, like others have said, just remove the stock baffles and air them out. Performance might suffer though.
I put on a set of Cobra long shots on my fat. My wife can hear me from 4 streets away. Buddies have Vance and Hines and all comment mine is louder! Becarefull with removing baffles now. Check your state laws. In New Hampshire they wont pass inspection with baffles removed!
