I have been told I need a power commander because of Rush slip ons and high flow filter. How do you know which one to buy? Are they pre programmed? I am really not sure if I have a high flow air filter. I have a factory Harley air cover but the black housing on the back side has been removed. I bought the bike this way. Is this considered a high flow filter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
What year and model bike do you have? It's EFI right? Did you take the filter off to try to identify the manufacturer and part number of it? I had a power commander on my Road King, worked great. You download a map (based on your intake, exhaust and engine mods) off their website into your computer and then load it into the power commander which connects to your ECU. www.powercommander.com for more info.
can you ask the previous owner if he had the stage 1 air cleaner put on? this would surely answer that question. as far which pwr com to get if would depend on year/make of the bike. when all that is figured out i would highly recommend getting it.
If it's EFI, does a light come on after it ides for a few minutes after you start it up? I put V&H duals on my Heritage and it required a PC which came preprogrammed and with a disc to enable changing the maps if any additional mods were done.
i got my bike with slip ons and a k & n air filter and i knew it was running lean and hot , well i just put on the power commander 5 and omg its like night and day , runs alot cooler and pulls like crazy now , i am going to save up for the auto tune and life will be good lol good luck but jamie at fuel moto is the best
