Scraping my floorboards on turns

My floorboards are "over-lean indicators". I uses to be concern about them dragging ground, but I came to the conclusion that it is no big deal. You'll learn that the bike will still make the turn just fine with out leaning so aggressively. Slowing down helps. And if it does scrape, considered yourself warned and keep on riding. You'll find that the few scrapes leave very little damage and is barely visible on the floorboards. If need be, replacing them will be cheaper then buying a solution to raise them if any are available – and it doen't look like there is a solution to do so. Good luck.

I rember the first time i draged my boards. Dam neer stained my shorts . What was that is all i could think and pulled over to check out the bike. Took a while but finialy got used to it. Just don't over do it and you will be ok. But it's cool to see the faces of people who hear the scrape as they freak out.
However, I never except maybe once or twice scrapped with the old heritage.. and I rode it hard, especially with new tires.
And that bike had been lowered with progressive shocks by the previous owner. The new bike, bone stock with stock shocks and no adjustments.. I scrapped the first ride and quite a bit more ever since and to me, it just doesn't handle as good as the old bike. Infact it took me a long time to adjust to the limits of the new bike.
I've been perplexed about this for some time..
How could an older Heritage that had been lowered, handle better than my brand new Fatty???
Only thing I can think of is the shocks.. I'm squirreling away for some progressives for the new bike to test the theory.. and to lower it about an inch or maybe 1 1/4".
