the baffle length of the baffles in the Samson Legend Series pipes are 1 3/4" diameter and 10" long in every set no matter what make or model. i hope this clears up any questions on the baffles. by the way the baffles in our Legend Series Pipes are all removable as well.
thank you,
JR

So I have a question then. If I wanted to take the baffles out of my pipes, would it affect the engine at all? I had thought about it before, and called a dealership and the tech told me that it would affect the compression and all kinds of other stuff and basically ruin my engine. Is there any truth to that or was he blowing smoke? They're V & H Short Shots.

removing the baffles has nothing to do with compression in the engine. what will happen is you will lose the back pressure, velocity of the exhaust gases, and the result will be a loss of torque and HP. many people have removed their baffles but were ready to remove them because of a series of upgrades that required the engine to breathe better. high compression pistons, ported heads, radical cams, high dollar ignition, stroked engine to a large displacement are some of the combinations where a baffle removal may be needed. i suggest leaving the baffles in place. the addition of torque cones would help you along with keeping the baffles.
thank you,
JR
