2000 fatboy vibration
I am new to harleys and just picked up a 2000 fatboy a few months back. The guy I bought it off had no idea what had been done performance wise. Looking the bike over it has a screaming eagle ignition system. Everyone has said it fels and sounds like it has at least cams in the motor, if not more motor work has been done. It has pipes and a hyper charger. During bike week I had a nasty vibration that broke the rear gas tank mount, and found it to be a bolt backing out of the rear jug motor mount. The vibration from this was very bad in the handle bars so that I could not use my mirrors. I tightened this down and that vibration went away. Now I have a nasty vibration on the floor boards. While riding the other day my coil bracket snaped off of the mount that runs from under the seat down to the motor. We just welded it back on. Someone sugested that the internal balance is off. The bike had 19000 miles on it when I bought it. It now has 22000. If anyone could give me any ideas as to where to start looking or if this is just the life of a harley owner it would be greatly appreciated. I am mechanicly inclined and do side work from my garage and also work in an auto center for a big name company. Just never delt with bikes.
