Default Powder coating apes

Is there anything special I should be aware of when powder coating a set of chrome apes black? Will I have problems getting the clamps and the grips on?

Are you doing it or is someone else? If someone else I guess for concerns would be whats their companies reputation for other jobs. For yourself it's the same thing. Bars are easily powder coated every day so should be a straight forward price and time turn around unless you have unique ideas for color and such.

No Im going to get someone else to do it but I notice Wild 1 Chubbies leave the grip and riser clamp area bare and was wondering if this has to be done to get everything to hook up.

You will be adding a slight "thickness" to the bars if you do have them coated in those areas. If you have it done by someone that knows what they are doing you should be good. I would send them to The Powder Pro, the work they did for me is top notch. Prepping the chrome is key also. I have seen some dudes around here who have had friends coat chrome bars. Their prep work was crap and now they have black and chrome two-tone bars.....

I just p/u a set of wild1's from the Dr. the areas that aren't p/c'd ar where the grips go and where the risers are. They start at 1.25 bars but are set at 1" to allow stock risers and grips. If your going with 1" bars have them p/c all of it. When you do your install p/u a set of solid or polyurethane bushings and you wl be fine.
