Hey, had a question for you all...now i am thinking about trading in my 2009 FXDC with 2900 miles on a 2003 fatboy at a dealer with only 3000 miles. Those are original, not a rebuild. My question is this...what would i be sacrificing with the 88ci? I personally don't think too much, but wanted other opinions. Do you all think this is wise to do? The price is right and i have wanted a fatboy for some time...thanks for your suggestions...
5 speed instead of 6 and the non hydraulic cam plate are the main issues. I run a 20032 fatboy and like it far better than the newer bikes. I slapped some cams in it and a 2 into 1 and it screams.
I had 07 FXD SuperGlide 96/6 speed an traded for a 06 Night Train 88/5 speed. Myself personally I like the 5 speed better an can tell no difference in the power of either one. But I like the ride of the softail over the dyna.
I just traded up my 09 streetglide for an 03 Heritage. I like the overall ride of the softail better than my streetglide, and the 5 speed is so much more smooth than that clunky 6 speed. Don't regret my decision at all.
This is great info from you all. I think I am going to pull the trigger on this one, Salesman tried to talk me out of it but I'm gonna do it anyways, i reckon...
i love the 03s, black, or silver and black, awesome colour schemes!! i just punched my 88 out to 95" with andrews 37 cams, probably should of gone gear drives but it runs strong!leave the maps and sensors behind!
i looked at a hot 03 fatboy the other day a friend is looking at! best bike i have ever seen! silver and blk anniversary, apes, mammoth diamond cut wheels, airide, i was drooling!! grab it man! they are so sweet! i would like 03 roadking
