Question Cracked bag mounts on 2008 Heritage

Has anybody out there had any issues with their saddle bags cracking at the mounting point? Wife has been through one set under warranty, now the second set is cracking. Left side is cracking at front mount, right side at rear mount. Unsure if this is same sequence as before. Original mounting hardware had rubber mount from mounting hardware to frame, Dealer removed them, went to solid mount after two sets of these for each side broke. Dealer says bolts are being over torqued when being remounted after washing. Funny that bags have not been off yet this season. Pappa Bags bag stiffeners installed this spring to keep bags from sagging. The metal frame for these should have spread pressure from mounting hardware out, not focus around hole for mounting bolt, where craks appear. No more than ten pounds of "stuff" in each side. 2008 Heritage Softail Classic with quick release hardware for Tourpak.

Anyone?

no issues here. Same set up with detachable tourpak. I also load the saddlebags up with tools, oil etc for roadtrips. Sure would **** me off if it did happen.

No issues here either. I've got two Heritages and have logged many miles on them with WAY more than ten pounds in the bags. No problems.

I've got 28,000 miles on my heritage and I overload the bags all the time. Yours is the first time I've heard of a problem with cracks.

Thanks for the replies, finally convinced the wife that yes she could over torque the nuts while installing bags after washing! Thanks to our dealer's service department they were able to explain to her why it was occuring to only the left front and right rear. She now understands that you can apply more pressure pushing down than pulling up. Thanks Dan, you saved us from one big disagreement!

you could get some rubber bushings (washers) to put between the bag and the nut, that might absorb some of the torque and vibration issues.

I have old bags that developed cracks, but I filled them with JB Weld and they are good as new
