I'm not exactly how thick but it is thick enough that you don't want it wear you don't need it! If the PC'er is good he'll know where to tape off so you don't have any problems. Be sure to ask him about where and what gets PC'ed.
I'm not sure how thick a bike parts coater will put it on. For industrial steel we go with a spray/temp to get a .003 thickness. This thickness will stand up to salt water spray if coating is 100% coverage. I recommend plugging screw holes with plugs or covering with high temp tape. I also like to stuff a rag into big holes such as a wheel hub and tape everything up good.
I know I had my bars PCed and I had a tough time with my battistini grips they were really tight I scratched it up getting them on and my throttle was a little tight at first
hmmm, everyone does it a little different, but same results I guess. I was jsut asking cus my spoke wheels were PC'd and its looks pretty good, not too thick on the spokes. On my rear brake disk, the disk was taped off where the pad rubs and I can see how thick the PC is. I just thought it was a thin black coating, but now I know how thick is it and what to look for. Thanks guys
