I have V & H Slip On's on my Heritage. I plan of going with a High FLow Air Filter and also getting a new map. Will I get more throttle response or will I get better mid range response as my dealer told me?
If by new map you mean the dealer download, it's a waste of time and money. Get a tuner. The Vance and Hines Fuel Pak can be had in the classifieds for $175 or so. Or if you plan on doing engine mods in the future then a SEST, PC5 or a Thundermax might be a better choice.
Yes I do mean a dealer download.......funny...I asked a few friends about it and they said it is good to do...helped them out...but I hear a few negatives......caught in between now LOL
Dealer download will cost $150 and do almost nothing. I agree with the above poster, get a tuner. If you want the best possible configuration get a Dyno once you have a tuner. Well worth the cash.
I had the dealer download and now have a Thundermax.I learned my lesson.Don't waste your money on the download. It does nothing for getting rid of heat or throttle response.
Whatever you do,get a tuner.PCV is a good choice from what I hear.No room under my seat for one,so I went with the Tmax.
Call Jamie at FuelMoto. He will fix you up.
I like the V&H FuelPak. Got it on both my bikes. It's plug and play and easy to install and can be moved to a new bike easily. If you're not gonna do anything more than Stage 1, then it's all you need.
