I'm with you on this one. I like the closeness between tire and fender like a hardtail. Heartland kit puts a big gap between tire and fender. Hell, if I wanted that look I would have bought a duece and put big tire kit on it. As far as the holes left on rear fender when swicthing to roto plate jr. (cool as ****), I'm looking for hood trim that goes on a early 50's GMC/Chevy trucks. Trim has same line as rear fender and can be modified to to go length of fender, matching center trim on tank. Another hood trim that would be sweet is 50's Pontiac Skychief-- it has an acrylic indian that lights up, would be cool to be to put former license plate leds in.
At one point I thought I wanted the Heartland kit, but after awhile I just said the hell with it. Once I removed the Lic. plate I knew the stock fender was for me. I may still chop it a little but the funds are running alittle low right now.
I don't own a Rocker but I like em quite a bit. The main reason being that swing arm mounted fender. It is unique to the entire Harley line. I wish the Crossbones came with something like that instead of the lame duck tail fender!
As such I never understood why so many people were buying up Rockers only to throw a Heartland kit on it. I think it is ironic that Heartland's motto is "The cure for the common softail." In the case of the Rocker, it actually completely robs it of its most unique feature and makes it pretty damn common by slapping a strut mounted fender like...common softails.
Enjoy your ride. Be glad you are part of the minority. You won't blend in so much!

Hawaii, are you still run'n with the stock seat, or did you pick up something else? Looks like a DG.
i like heartland looks great on alot of rockers
i also like stock rear fender i have a trik up me sleeve to "enhance "
my rear fender
aaron get some pics w/ new pipes already huh?!
There's some bikes on here with the Heartland kit that look great. On the other hand, I'm more interested in the "cheap mod" department. That's why the Heartland Kit was never an option for me. But, I've been able to make my Rocker "my own" by doing cheap mods while keeping the stock fender.
Chopped rear fender, homemade seat, stock bars reversed in different risers, and most recently blacking out most of the gray.
I guess what I don't get is why certain people feel the need to judge or degrade someone else's choice. You don't like the Heartland kit? Fine. You feel like it's overpriced? You are entitled to that opinion.
