I have an 07 Heritage. There is oil leaking from somewhere just cant find where. It is dripping off of the Primary drain bolt. But here is the kicker, its not the drain bolt. It seems like it is motor oil not primary or tranny. Looks like it is running down behind the primary case. Has anyone else had this problem? Any Ideas? Thanks
Haha Nope Harley. And its too new to have a leak but it does. And dont know where it is comming from. Guess its just time to tear down and find it. Just thought someone might have had a similar situation.
No dont think its that cause there is no oil on the side of the bike. Just under it and drips off the Primary drain bolt. I took it to the shop and he just replaced the prmary drain bolt and gasket. That didnt help though still leaking.
Thanks that could be what it is. Im going to take it back to the shop. But maybe I can point him in the right direction cause he seemed as clueless as me. Even after I told him it wasnt the primary bolt leaking, thats still all he tried fixing on it.
Shifter shaft seal for sure. It will run down the inside of the primary cover and gather at the primary drain bolt. Mine has been doing that for 5 years. LOL. It only drips off when the bike is extremely hot.
i heard something like that but have not had it happen. was told to clean the hole and then poor some loctite in it and let it dry. i thought they were talking about a seam that leaks after a while
