Question rear fender gap

I have an 05 fatboy and the gap in between the rear fender and the tire on one side I can run my fingers though and the other side I cant is that common or would it be the strut holding the fender

is there a fix to that cause it seems as if my tire rubs with the fender when someone is riding with me

It shouldn't be that close....Have you had the tire replaced recently?

Maybe a spacer got switched.

There is an offset on the rear wheels so the left side(primary side) will always be closer unless you get an aftermarket wheel with a different hub to offset the wheels in the other direction. How wide of a tire are you running?

They are all off center a little. Sometimes you can loosen the bolts on the struts connecting them to the frame and then pull the fender over as you are tightening the bolts it may help.

Or you could always get a narrower tire. I had the same issue when I installed a 150 on my aftermarket rim and tugging on the fender still did not create enough room. I gave up and got a 90/16 130mm tire to replace the 150. With the stock wheel I had a 150 without issue. So it is the offset.

So you are not runnen that Avon 150 no more? As i just bought one for my bike and was thinking they fit. I was told the Avon 140mm was comparable to a stock dunlop tire. Stratplexi told me he's runnen a Avon 150 but its tight. I also see some of your pics and they look to have that Avon 150 pictured. So how tight was/is it?

I forgot what year it is but i was told that the rear fender gets wider on certain models. As i thing his bike is a 04' and he had a 160 on the back of his heritage. His tire was on a 18" wheel and when i stuck my finger in between the tire and fender there was about a 1/2" gap on each side.

I'm assuming all the newer than 03 bikes have the fender nut kit..

If they don't make sure all the bolts are reversed....The bolt should come out the fender strut and use an acorn nut..

Many times the 150 would catch on the bolt protruding too far into the fender well
