Default Brake light?

Just wondering if any of you have had a similar problem with your brake light. The brake light stays on after my front brake has been used?. I can get it to return to running light by giving the brake lever a slight push forward? I know the problem is in the front brake lever, because when I use the rear brake everything returns to normal. My bike is an 04 FXSTS. I have read my manual, and it slightly talks about the switch. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I've never had that problem but it does sound like it's the switch. Ever have the right controls off?

The switch is probalby ok since you can return to running lights by pushing the lever forward. Inside the controls, there is a metal strip (I think it is copper) that provides a spring load against this switch. It may be possible that that strip broke in half and is no longer providing the spring load.
