My " buzzing" happened with my half helmet. The side straps flapped against my ear. That beating like a drum on the side of my head for a few hours gave me a killer headache.....
So, i went and got a 3/4 helmet that covers my ears. 1000% better minimal sound now....only problem, i now i cant hear my wife. Well, i guess that isnt a bad thing!!
Yes it does!!!LMAO I too may have to start using ear plugs or buds with an ipod. Last year I had the same thing happen, scarry when you can't hear. I guess I just reached the limit, started all of a sudden
+1 on earplugs. Wear them in my full face helmet on my Triumph and on my Ultra with half helmet. Went and test rode the Lo im getting in a couple of weeks and took my earplugs with me so i could listen to the bike and see the differences from my ULtra. Also i drive a firetruck for a career dept. and wear a earplug in my left ear because the federal cue siren is on the right front bumper and it just screams even with the windows up. Cheap insurance to save my hearing for when im older. Although the older i get, the less i care to hear what people are saying to me anyway
Hearing loss is an incremental and collective problem. It never gets better only worse, but these days there are great aides to help with minor to major loss. Hell some of them even have bluetooth so you can use them to listen to your music.
Even if you don't have loss, you will if you don't ride with some protection. Yes, I work for a hearing care company. HearUSA to be exact. They even provide assistance to getting hearing protection that really fits for when you ride. As mentioned you can still hear quite well around you and even can talk with a passenger with them in but the harsh and harmful sounds get blocked.
Look us up in a town by you. Tell them that the IT manager told you to call.
I know hearing loss is a serious issue, but it da** sure comes in handy when folks you don't wanna listen to are talking AT you.......just quit listening and then tell 'em you didn't hear 'em..........
Plain n simple. Having a fockin siren going off in yur head 24/7 fock'n sucks!! I can only hear loud, low tones. My hearin aids don't help either. Too many years working on jet air craft and the related ground equip. shot mine to hell. When it's dis bad, nothing fockin helps. My family calls it selective hearing, I call it my reason for going insane!
Wear your damn ear plugs kiddies, you DO NOT want this crap!!
are the full face helmets quieter than a half or 3/4? i have one of the bell 3/4 helmets with a plastic brow piece and the wind noise is bad enough that i wear plugs.
i don't know if it was the motorcyle, or my life time lover affair with the 44, but somthing did it
My 3/4 helmet is pretty quiet, but I have a windshield. It was noisy without it, hate the screen, but necessary for the noise. I'm thinking of getting a full helmet this spring, maybe then the shield will go bye-bye.
