Default Lifter Block cover instructions

Hey,

Just receive a used chrome lifter block cover kit (PN 18262-00) and need some help with the install. On 1 side of the chrome lifter base cover (the square chrome part that covers the lifter base), there is a small screw that will hold it tight to something, but the original lifter block base does not have a threaded hole for them to screw into. Am I required to drill a small hole in the block? Am I missing some kind to attachment? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i may be wrong but if its a cover i would imagine the srew is just to help hold it in place without actually screwing into a hole.

SMsgtB,
If its the same kit i have, it should screw into the opposite side cover.
Ive attached a pic.

Sorry but I am a little confused...easy to do these days

That is the same kit. I have mounted the bracket that the bar and shield bolts too from the back side. When I put the 2 chrome covers over each of the lifter blocks, on the far outside of each of them is where the hole and screw are. The screw just goes through the hole like it needs to be screwed into something. If you are saying it should be screwed into the lifter block the chrome piece is over, there is no threaded hole for it to screw into. I have checked and this part is correct for my '06 FLSTCI.
