i have been looking for a lounder baffle for my 2 inch rush slip on no luck so far. big city told i have to take the mufflers off and there baffle goes in to the head pipe i am not going threw the hazzle with that. i want something easy any help thanks kojax
I just finished pulling the baffles out of my 2" Rush mufflers and installling the Big City Thunder baffles in the head pipe yesterday. It wasn't hard. Just followed the simple instructions. Took about 30 minutes. The sound is louder but I don't know that it is better. Sounds kinda hollow and maybe a little wheezy for the lack of a better word. I have only ridden it for about an hour since installing the BCT baffles. I think that I'm gonna ride a little more then experiment with cutting down my Rush baffles and installing them with the BCT ones.
i made my own baffles for under $20. you need some back pressure. the inside pipe need to be 3 in long and 1.75 wide and 4 in long total. so for your pipes take a 1.75 3 in pipe and make 3 rows cheese grater type cuts and wrap in packing the last 2 inch and extend the 1 inch beyond the outer pipe and weld up. it will looks like a cone shape. let me know if you want draw on paper
OK, so I have my Heritage Soft tail and love her, but I have stock pipes, which suck!! So what are my best options to get a louder sound and get a little attention? Vance and Hines or Thunder Head or others... Don't want to lose all of the back pressure and the HP with that, but I do want something louder. SUggestions?
One of the benifits of Rush slip-ons is that you can change the baffles. For softail slip ons we offer 1.50", 1.75",2.00", and 2.25". The larger the louder! Increasing to the 2.25" baffle will increase your sound but due to the reduction of backpressure I recommend using a properly tuned fuel management system. The suggested retail for a new set of baffles is $69.25... I bet you might be able to find someone on hdforum looking to sell or trade.
