Default 02' Softail Custom Clutch issues

Background: Custom softail frame, 88" revtech, enclosed 5 spd tranny, 3 bolt derby cover primary, harley trans(not sure what year)

I just picked up an 02' Softail custom. When i test drove the bike I knew the clutch was going out, but it still worked. I get home take it for a spin and it is much much worse. I have an old buddy come over and see if he can diagnose it for me and sure enough, he took it for a spin and toasted the clutch...so i thought, there was a good inch of play in the clutch lever when he got back. so i do the clutch adjustment, (loosen cable, adjust set screw in primary, resent cable to 1/8" end play) I go to pull the clutch lever to see where its at and it is rock hard, readjust and still rock hard. i pull a little harder and hear a SNAP!!! I figured i broke something in the clutch case, i pull it apart and sure enough, there are ball bearings sitting in the outer clutch case cover and the c-clip was no longer in place because i assumed that i broke the cover with my over powering the handle.

Is is common to have to replace that bearing, and what bearing is it, anybody have part numbers. Another buddy of mine told me that he has broke 3 bearings on this dyna before.

Just curious if this has happened to anyone else before. What process should I take to fix it?

Thank you,
Kyle
