What Chrome polish are you guys using to get those fine scratches out and getting your chrome to that mirror finish? Are you using good ole elbow grease or something else?
I use Semichrome Polish first for bare aluminum or chrome that has very light swirl scratches. For aluminum that I have polished to shine almost like chrome or high quality chrome finish I use Never-Dull wadding. To get aluminun to a point that semichrome will work, I use 600 grit sandpaper soaked in clean oil . . . for chrome in need of serious work . . . get it re-chromed.
I like Mother's Chrome Polish in the bright red bottle.
it does both. as you rub it in, it cleans the chrome. you let it set to a haze, buff off, and the results will blind you when you roll your bike out into the sun!
I only have to apply it about once a month or so. in between, i wipe down the chrome with a 50/50 mix of Zaino Z2 polish and water..
If you've got severely dirty or oxidized chrome, I agree with the above posters, Nevr-Dull has been around for many years. It's amazing stuff in that it easily cleans off the grime, but does not scratch the chrome....really great product in my experience.

Mother's Chrome Polish works for me too. I do use SemiChrome on any unprotected Aluminum but on this bike I don't seem to have any that's not clearcoated.
Been using Turtle wax chrome polish and cleaner on my chrome only and it's the best for fine scratches, however just to polish and not take out fine scratches, now i'm using Lucus detail spray on the whole bike and I also found this stuff that works better than the Lucus, its called Liquid Performance , here is the links to all three to show you what the cans looks like. This stuff is good on paint and chrome and goes on and comes off super easy. http://www.amazon.com/LP-SPRAY-CLEAN.../dp/B000WMS51C
I tried the Mothers chrome polish and if you use it in direct sunlight and its hot outside it seems to waterspot or streak on me. Maybe I got a bad batch of Mothers or I did'nt shake the bottle enough. 80% of all my detailing is at bike shows in direct sunlight so I need a polish that is unaffected by sunlight while applying.

I have tried a double armload of cleaners, wax, polish, well you get the idea. In my opinion, Mothers products are hard to beat. Chrome polish is outstanding. Car wash is best I have used. Started using products in 1980 & tried others, mistake, & discard them. I have just about quit experimenting, slow learner. Urge all to try Mothers.
