Anyone around 5'10" with Forward Control Extensions?
Hey all -
I have an 08' Rocker with stock forward controls - I'm catching myself constantly riding high back of the seat of the Heartland Kit... Would extensions resolve this by allowing my legs to stretch further and let me sit better in the pan?
I've researched most of the threads and it seems the 6'3" guys are really loving the 3" extensions. Haven't found any conclusion to those who were around 5'10".
I'm interested in the Arlen Ness Extension kit but afraid the 3" would be a s-t-r-e-t-c-h.
I ride an 02 Deuce with Forward controls and I am 6' and I still have plenty of leg left to stretch out further if they were further forward. I don't believe there is an extreme difference in the controls versus my Deuce. You should be fine at 5'10" going forward three inches.
If you don't want to go all the way to 3 inches, Cycle Visions has a 2 inch kit. I've thought about it myself. It says you don't have to change cables for the 2 inch one so that might make it cheaper too.
I'm right at 6' and have the 3" ness extension which IMHO is the best bang for the buck since it comes with all necessary HW. I could use another inch or two but I do have long legs. I think a guy 5'10" would be comfortable on it. My neighbor who is about 5'6" took road her home from the bar for me the other night and his only complaint was that he had a hard time reaching the brake.
Are you sure you are not riding way back because of the lack of the rise of the pan itself ? maye taller springs is all you need ?... just sayin.. it took me long experimentation with springs and seat positions to find the right fit.
Im 5'10", and Im on a Danny Grey seat. I love the posision, and ride for hours on end with no trouble. Thats with the stock forward controls. I do how ever, have to S-T-R-E-T-C-H for the rear break. I wish I could fix that issue.
Mine will be here tomorrow 3" ness and I'm only 5' 10" I'm thinking they'll be fine $167 shipped from eBay comes with everything you need also comes with a new stainless line.
My sone rides an 08 Rocker C. He is 5'-10" and has the 3" HD extended forward controls. The stretch is perfect for him, he loves it. Anymore stretch would be too much. I am 6'-1" with a long inseam. When I ride his bike, I could use a little more stretch, but it still feels good. I think you will be very happy with your 3" Ness stretch.
I'm 5' 10" (maybe) and I put the ness extensions on my 08 screaming eagle springer and like everybody is saying, best bang for your buck, I actually wouldn't mind a little more room.
