Default scratches in chrome

Much to my dismay, I noticed some very lite scratches in my chrome oil tank on my '08 Heritage Softail the other night. They are very lite and only visible when looking at it from a certain angle. However, I know the scratches are there and it bugs me. I tried Harley Chrome Polish and S-100 Polishing Soap. I was very impressed with the S-100 product but neither product got rid of the scratches. Does anyone here have any advice for dealing with this situation? Thank you.

Scratches will not come out of chrome. Period.

only way to take a scratch out of chrome is to have it re-chromed.

you have 3 choices
1. live with it
2. re-chrome it
3. buy a new part

good luck....

Yep, unfortunately, once chrome is scratched...it's scratched..

Can get it re-dipped, or paint/customize to your liking.

Get rid of your chrome pieces as they get scratched and replace them with black.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate your responses. I was afraid that may be the case (can't do anything about it).

I know scratches are a pain in the *** but they happen ........ as you say you only see them at certain angles ..... well i also have a couple of fine scratches ..... only slight .... but you soon learn to ignore them ..... enjoy the total rather than the sum of it's part's ....
