Default Replacement rear tire on fatboy?

Just wanted to get some thoughts on a replacement for my stock rear tire 05 Fatboy. Go with the same Dunlop 401 or something different? I don't know anything about motorcycle tires - but I ride fairly hard. The local stealer wants $165.95 + $85 labor - don't think so!

new to D/FW Texas area if anyone can suggest a local shop

Tires are like oil choices, personal. I tried the METZ which is a softer compound than the Dunlop. It sticks well, but wears quickly.
I went back to the Dunlops, front and rear.

The Dunlop 401 series tire boasts:

The Dunlop D401 motorcycle tire has an advanced tread pattern and tread compound for improved wet and dry grip. Computer-Optimized tread profile reduces cupping for even wear and exceptional mileage.
The only tire approved by Harley-Davidson for it's cruiser bikes
Improved performance over a wide range of operating temperatures; siped for added grip in the wet
Matching front and rear tread pattern gives greater stability
Increased abrasion resistance
H-rated for speeds up to 130 mph

*Edit....Dunlop 402.....is the Whitewall version of the 401.....

That price you quoted is the going rate......You can do it yourself and save the labor, but it might take you longer than the 1 hour your dealer wants to charge

On ours the rear is a 150 black wall and an lop 401.
the front is the 402 and its a Black wall as U can also get it in WW's...

I order mine from Dennis Kirk ( he is a sponsor in here), its about 225 for the pair, was last yr?... then have a local Indy mount them, just take the bike in and he does both for 120.
