Default Hello, NEWBIE HERE with a AIR CLEANER QUESTION..

Hey All..
I love the site and I have to say, afteryears of riding Rockets, doing stunt shows all over and mainly using Stunter Message boards, I have purchased my first Harley and I now know why you all love them so much...
Will never go back, and, just soldmy last Stunter and am looking for another Harley to buy...

I purchased a 99 Heritage that is all stock.. Just turned 3K miles so the bike is really brand new in that regard.. I put D&D drag pipes on it, and a couple little chrome peices here and there..
None of my bikes have ever been stock and I have always drastically changed them.. ie, Chrome, custom paint, wheels, etc..
So needless this to say, i already have the House of Kolor paint ready for the Heritage, Motor work will be done, etc..
So in the meantime, I am wondering what or if their is anything I can do to get the bike to run better..
Work with the Stock air cleaner but maybe open it up, drill out the casing, etc..
Adjust the carb at all..
Again, I am a NEWBIE to the Harleys so please forgive me if the questions are a little random but with my D&D pipes, do they have baffles in them? It's the drag pipe set up but they look A. like their in 2 peices and can be shortened and B. can I remove the Baffles for a better sound.. (Not that happy with them and the sound..)
Just looking for quick things I can do to get me through the summer then come Fall, the bike is being broken down and completley 100% redone..

Thanks again all for any replies.. Appreciate any help or advice youmay have..
Also, LOVE THE SITE..

Go with a SE AF and rejet the carb to give it more fuel. You'll like it.

I came from sport bikes too a few years back, sold my R1 and stopped racing the GSXR600 in shannonville and got me a softail.

Here is the deal, you can not really get power on those things as you and me know it, by "harley" standards, sure.. yeaa.. but by the way you and me think 'NO'.

Second, Adding More power to your bike without matching stopping power is not wise (Ask me ..), these things do not stop easy as our bikes of track DNA, so adding more power means asking for more trouble.

If you really like the bike and I think you do and understand how it makes you feel (that is how I feel on it), then accept it for what it is, .. it is a toy, you customize it, looks amazing, feels nice, gives you a bit of a personality fit on every corner, you wrestle it a bit, she yields some and kicks back some, does not listen to everything you say, and that is why you love her , it is like a time machine and Fantasy land portal all at once.

nobody wants horse power on a fantasy portal LOL..

Now.. technically, I have the Doherty PowerPacc after reading American Iron Magazine article on it by Donney Peterson (both names will become familiar to you in time), and performance wise, I can tell you, it is very little, but it has the tear drop S&S old school style cover and that puts a smile on my face everytime I see it
