Talk to Rob with Garageleathers. www.garageleather.com My brother and I both have these bags. You just have to decide if you want black or brown. The brown leather one I have is great, lots of comments.
I am sure you would not be disappointed with either bag. The quality of the garage and leatherworks are both excellent. Here are the differences that made me go with the LW. I like the slightly smaller size of the leatherworks but they do have the bigger version if you like. I like the way the leather is rolled on the outside of the the bottom. I really like the heavy duty quick release buckles on it too. Still has the two strap look but alot easier. I have gone in my bags at stoplights no problem. The single big buckle on the garage would probably be just as easy.
What they said + avoid Larosa from ebay, their solo bags are just plain garbage, you may pay less for them but think of it this way, buying a 200$ something good leather bag or throwing 125$ in the garbage ? .. the 125$ in the garbage is always a bad choice.
You can always monitor the for sale section here, they come up once in a while and get snapped pretty quick.

LW is a great bag for all the reasons you described,, but I like garage leathers for the opposite reasons Rugged hand made, No quick release.
By the way we are a custom shop and you can have it anyway you want. We do not mass produce either. I can also match the Batboy tassel that is on the seat
