Default Trailer

Has anybody ever rented a U-Haul motorcycle trailer? If so how was it? I looked at one it seems okay but had those little tires on it. Never towed anything that had small wheels. I do own a trailer myself but its 14 feet long to big just for one bike. Thanks

I don't know about anyone else but I don't rent anything from U-Haul. I see way to many on the side of the road broken down. I have had a bad experience myself but thats another story. How far you towing? Remember at hwy speeds those little tires and wheels are humming along at a pretty good clip. How about renting a small enclosed? What ya towing with?

carry it in the bed of your truck. and dealer will have a ramp and help you load and unload it.

Heres my experience with open trailers and long hauls. The truck you are towing will be spraying water all the time on the motorcycle if caught in a rain storm. And when you reach your destination you have to clean the bike for hours to get all the road film out of every crèche and cranny. If you have a bike that is not clean then very seldom gets washed then get an open trailer. If you get an enclosed trailer, when you get to your destination you unload and ride your clean bike and enjoy your visit, instead of working on cleaning a bike. Look for a used enclosed trailer from uhaul and put a few tie downs in the floor and nail a piece of 2x4 on both sides of the front tire. And a scotch in front of the front tire. When you return the trailer take out your wood and scotch and fill the holes with some wood filler. Under no circumstance tell the uhaul dealer you are placing a motorcycle in the trailer, it is against their rules to place any gas operated vehicle in any of their enclosed units. Thats my advice.

I rented one once and it worked out fine. Trailer towed straight and it had plenty of places to attach tie-downs. It was 300 miles round trip - no issues.

I rented one. Ten days after a triple hernia surgery was too soon to ride the 700 miles to the beach. I, too, was worried about the small tires, but they're mutli ply trailer tires. Pulled fine.....I was running between 65 and 75. $15 and change/day

you were lucky. I'd never cover the bike on a trailer. that's just asking for trouble.
