04' Softail standard efi. My codes have been showing front and rear cylinders not firing- EFI (P1353,P1356). The check engine light first started coming on after a tune about 11,000mi's ago. The check engine code first started coming on when accelerating, then began to just stay on. My bike runs w/ no apparent problems.
Possible bad tune or maybe the injectors are becoming clogged? I did take a road trip around the southern US tallying about 6000mi"s. Bad gas?
I have tried to clear the codes, but they still come back. I also had my pipes off to polish the blues off and to check my tensioner shoes. Fired the bike briefly w/ the pipes off to make sure oil was pumping back around. While firing, the bike appeared to be firing intermittely.
Any ideas? Has anybody else had this problem w/ the solution?
Thanks for your replies in advance.
Mine would throw codes even after clearing them - bike ran great. Got some electrical contact cleaner, took every plug apart I could find, sprayed with cleaner, and reseated connections - no more codes.
Put some Lucas gas/injector cleaner in and the check engine light quit showing constantly. Havn't cleared the codes and re-checked yet- gotta get some sleep.
KumaRide- Thanks, will check and clean connections. I do ride in the rain.
