Default Does using Auxiliary lights cause oncoming to flash?

It seems that I get a lot of headlight flashes from oncoming cars when I have my auxiliary lights on at night as if I have high beams on.

Does anyone else get this?

I like having the aux lights on at night for the extra wide visibility, but everytime I get flashed I feel like maybe they are too bright, and when I do get flashed it makes it harder to see the road as I'm passing the oncoming car.

Thoughts?

My riding bud is on a road-king with those darn things. I will not let him follow me, rather I make him lead... because of those things. To answer your question, even in daylight, those things are extremely BRIGHT! Day or night, I cann't use my mirrors when he's behind me... wow... serious eye burn.

I think they're just not aimed right. I notice mine really light up the reflectorized signs

They are bright, and I ride with mine on day and night. I can't remember being flashed, but I know I'm seen.

Every now and then someone in the oncoming lane flashes their high beams when I have my passing lamps on, but it hasn't seemed to happen much lately. I generally don't run with them on during the day unless I am on the interstate or want a little more visibility.

I haven't got around to adding auxiliary lights to my bike. If I had them, I would have them on full time.
Find a level parking lot and mark off a spot 20' from a wall. Measure the distance from the ground to the middle of your aux. lights.
Put a mark on the wall using a piece of tape to represent that measurement.
With your bike upright and 20' away from the marked tape on the wall, your beam should hit approximately 2" below it.
You can also measure how far apart, side to side from centerline of the bike to see if the lights project straight ahead and not go off to the side. It is most important that the left light points straight ahead so it is not going into the eyes of on coming traffic.

I only run mine during the day, they are not a focused beam they are a floodlight. I've been in my car many times at night having bikes coming at me and they're always too bright, mainly cause they're not aimed any particular direction. So while on mine, out of courtesy to oncoming I leave them off unless on a back road where I need them. Same as every Yahoo out there with Fog lamps "TURN THE DAMN THINGS OFF IT'S NOT FOGGY", your not cool looking with them on!
