Default PC3 install on a 2006 NT

OK, I just received my PC3 today. I have removed the battery, cut the zip ties, I have lossend the relay bracket (have not removed because I can get the relays off, Not sure it even needs to be removed) I have removed the splash guard.

But for the life of me I can not get the PC3 connector from the splash guard location into the battery box. That hole in the battery box is so tight I can't get it through.

Any tips or pointers?

Will if fit under the seat?

I have allready pissed of my wife, got a headach, and sweat my A$$ off.

Thanks

thanks guys.

Dynabob, PM sent.

so on the 2006 train should I use the deeper tray that came with the PC3 or install behind the splash guard?

Wonder if the hole in the battery box is smaller on thr 2006 vs the 2007?

When I put mine on the last time I removed the four bolts that attach the fender struts to the frame. Disconnected the wiring harness for the tail lights and took the whole assembly off. It takes five minutes to remove and in my opinion makes the job ten times easier. You can reach everything and it makes it alot easier dicking around with those zip ties. This is for mounting it behind the splash guard off course.

Were u able to get the connector through to the battery box? Or did you take the PC3 box and slide that through to the splash guard?

STOP!!! Did you read the installation manual? The 06 models are the ONLY ONES that you CAN NOT use the deeper ECU bucket. You HAVE to put it behind the splash guard.

I have an 06 also, and when I did it I thought I didn't need to remove everything the instructions say to remove also, but you do, it took me about an hour and 2 bloody knuckles to figure that out. You do need to completely remove the battery from the bike, and pull the relays to the side. And you do need to eliminate the relay bar also, the double sided tape and zip ties come in very handy when you're reinstalling everything. The PCIII connector is a tight fit, but it does fit through the hole once you get everything out of the way. Here is proof hahaha....

Gettting that POS relay bracket off is a real pain. I ended up just taking a pair of tin snips to that thing... LOL

Once again thanks.

Relay bracket... I'm already pissed at that thing....I can't get the relays to move at all. I see that they should just slide of but I have not been able to.

Also, as of right now I still have not got the connector through the battery box hole.... I guess it is possible, but it sure doesnt look like it.

Any other tips.

Update:

After trying and trying to get the freaking PC3 connector from the splash guard through to the battery box, I finally got it through. About time.

I followed the rest of the directions that came with the PC3 and everything else was pretty smooth. Well trying to attach the zip ties to the PC box and getting everything tight is also a big pain in the ***.

So now that everything is done I wanted to go on a test ride. It was about 11 pm so kind of late to start up and run in my hood. F it. I crank the NT and it is loud. Seems way louder now the PC is installed.

I did a shot ride and it seems to have a faster rev, quicker responce, and way louder. Since is was kind of late at night (deer) I didn't get on it too hard. So I will post more later.
