Including a SERT install and dyno, the cost I was quoted from my HD dealer was almost $2000.00 Canadian. Not sure how that compares to you US folks.....

I am going to look at the 204's too. McSarge, did you consider the 254 cams?

I looked at a dyno sheet for the 96 with the 255's and they were getting around 79 hp and 92 ft lbs of torque, I'm beating that now with out cams.

The SE255's in a 2010 made 84 hp and 103.6 ft lbs of torque a SE254 in the same bike made 89 hp and 101.8 ft lbs of torque. Depends on the setup of the bike.

I use my bike for mostly around town with a few 100 mile plus rides thrown in on the weekends. So I want quick acceleration. The 204's come on around 2000 rpm and pull hard as they go up. I know there a lot of cams out there and a lot of people love the TW6-6 in a stock 96. I just like the SE204 for the way I ride and I don't have to pay $400.00 plus for someone else's product. This is of course just my opinion.

Most of them are making good power and torque numbers are around 100 to 107 depending on the A/C and exhaust setups.

I currently run a Thunderheader 2 into 1 exhaust and a SE Heavy Breather a/c. I am running a Thundermax Autotune fuel control unit with a custom map and I currently getting 78.26 HP and 95.52 Ft lbs of torque. With the 204's I am hoping I can get at least 102 ft lbs of torque 105 would be great. I will post up my results soon.
================================================== =======

In this part of the country 95 #'s of tq with out a cam in a otherwise stock 96 would be very over inflated..
There are tuners that will and can produce high numbers by the way they set up the dyno.
Ours say they can do that too,, but there not trying to play the numbers game, there trying to get a good tune with real numbers

Our tuners do a SAE,, 4th gear pulls around here...
I know some other across the country still do STD's and 5th gear pulls which will give U around 5-8% better numbers....

Here. The average 103 kit with cams would do good to get 105#'s of TQ with mid 80's HP... thats without head work..

SEE the DYNO sheets below..

Heres what My son got when he put in the SE204's in both his 09 NT with BSL's and his.07 Deuce with BR's 2-2. The 07 had SERT and the 09 was with SEST.
both were tuned on the dyno...

Will add that they are great cam and come on strong around 2700,,Ideal for lighter bikes..

U can also see the 2-2 BR's has a lot more area under the curve...than the BSL's did..

I have 204's and like they way run. It has good power, I haven't put it on the dyno yet but they do wake up that '96 up. After the winter build up this year I will have it on the dyno just to see what it puts up for numbers. I just don't put a lot in the numbers as there is just too much variation. It depends on what gear is used and so on. To me numbers are numbers, run them off side by side and see what you get.

49 you are exactly right every dyno is different based on the given day and conditions and the operator. My runs were done in 4th with a new map loaded in the thundermax at the start of the session and I noticed a gain after each run and I think it was because the Tmax was learning and changing the fuel ratio every run.

I have altered the stock map I got from Zippers. I moved the timing advance up a bit and had it start a little earlier than the conservative way they had it set up. The change in timing really made a difference in waking up the bike it revs up quickly and pulls really strong. It also cooled the motor off big time, I also altered the fuel in the cruise area to try to get it to improve the mileage a bit.

I have a 2000 Deuce. I put a big bore kit(95") with 10.25 pistons.
The dealer installed SE204 cams. I have a Vance & Hinds big shots.
The carb and exhaust were modified and it dynos out at 79.18HP and 96.54 Torque. Performs well on the street and mileage is mid to high forties.

Mine was a 96", it now has 103" kit with SE 211 cams and a PC5. Just added a 50mm TB which added a little in HP and TQ (see dyno sheet). Would only recommend the 211 if you like winding it up - suits someone that might have come of riding a ducati or moto guzzi.

I love the way the bike goes now, decent low down but really flies when I wind it up which is how I like it. I have ordered D&D Lowcats though to try and bring up the TQ a little down low whilst not sacrificing up top.

wahog. from what I've read the 211's like a little more compression than stock to wake them up...

agree also most tourers or heavy two upper that still otherwise stock find them a little lazy under 3k..

That 45 intake close moves the line to the right for just otherwise stockers.

I dont know what numbers I have yet, but I already have stage 2 breather on it and V&H big radius 2 into 2 with a PCV. I was thinking about a big bore kit or just SE255 cams what do yall think.

My bike has woods 777 cams, stage 1 breather, se heavy clutch spring, cobra speedster exhaust, and sert dyno tune. The guy that does all the performance work at the dealership recommend those cams. Not based on my add ons but what I wanted the cams do. I didn't care about numbers as much as I cared about having more low and mid range power. I also wanted a little lopier idle than stock. Cost me $1500 because I got a deal on labor and parts. I figured that if the have to tune the bike because of the intake and exhaust my as well do cams. Head work when I can afford it some day.
