Default Scraping floorboards got me spooked

I'm an ex-sport bike rider, and used to leaning the hell out of my rides in the corners. I LOVE riding my Fatboy, but I must admit, I'm a little spooked in the corners due to the scraping of the stock floorboards...my fear is that the bike will tripod and I'll lose traction and go down.

The floorboards appear to be mounted in such a fashion as to allow some movement for this purpose...i.e., you can scrape them and they will rotate up, until you lean far enough that you hit the floorboard mounts. My logical mind expects that I'd need to lean the bike over pretty far before it hits the mounts and tripods...anyone have any experience with this?

Scrape!!! Make some sparks!! Have fun with it. They're cheap to replace. You won't tripod.

I would not say you will not Tripod...but I would think you would have to be doing some crazy sh*t for it to happen...

when I installed my floorboard extenders I left the bolts a little on the loose side...they pivot easy and IMO don't scape as hard as they did before...

I change my riding style when I went over to the dark side it was an easy adjustment but I do miss the way the Bonneville t100 road almost like a dirt bike on steroids.

you can put pegs on it, lots have done it on here, maybe they will post..it looks good too...i cant run with the heel toe shifter anyway i always have to watch my footing when going back to the board and have to put my foot in the middle of the two...if i had boards i would go to pegs or just unhook the heel one, but the pegs never scrap

I Scrape mine all of the time and I'm not "too" aggressive when I ride...

I don't ever feel out of control when it scrapes, so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Ive scraped the mounts on both sides before. They do give you a little shock since they dont move and they're a lot more solid than the boards but nothing too bad. First time was around a 90 degree turn and I guess I leaned more than usual. I take it at 20-25 normally but that day I think I must of been 5-10mph faster.

Its fun to scrape them normally and you'll learn the lean angle after a while. And no if you're leaned over that far you're not about to go down anyways... you'd have to hit some oil or dirt for that to happen and be laying in pretty good on the throttle.
