Default Engine crash bar options for Crossbones

I'm strongly considering engine bars for my bones, three reasons; aesthetic, protection in a spill and most importantly create a relaxed cruise footpeg setup. My feet hang off the front of the standard floorboards in 'cruise' mode even though I am 6 tall with a short 29" inseam. Looks like I got a choice of two, wanna keep it Harley and price doesn't seem so bad for a change. Anyone got these on a bones or any other model and got a positive experience?

The moustache (my preference....)

Or the standard and mount my own highway pegs ...

I like the looks of the mustache bar. I dont know if your going to be comfortable with your feet on it as tall as you are though

On my Road King, the most comfortable thing I found was this. On a standard engine guard, I used the long 360 degree mounts. I put them real low and angled back, they were mounted pointing out. With them set up like this, I could put my feet on the boards, my feet on the highway pegs, or my favorite, I could put my heel on the board and toes on the pegs. I rode like that 98% of the time I bet.

That is how I have mine setup...without the 360 mounts. I can barely reach the pegs on the crash bar with my feet, but it is really nice with heels on the edge of the boards and the toes on the highway pegs.

ON the bones IMO the standard flows better... and the black is bad.

Same as on our Hertiage. but their chromies.

My Crossbones had a mustache bar on it when I bought it. I rode it home from Florida and found the bar comfortable for my long legs. I'm just under 6'3" with a 36" inseam. I sold the bar because frankly I didn't like the look. But I sure would have liked to have it on the trip to Sturgis this year.

@ Ole Coyote - Where did you get your crash bar from? Been looking at a few but haven't decided.
