Here in the Dallas, Fort Worth, TX area the police won't even respond if no one is hurt and the vehicles are drivable. Times have really changed.

What a lazy dumb a$$ cop was that? Dereliction of duty. And I say this as a retired Chief.

Great job saving your self and your bike.
You will be o.k. without a report. If there is any contention on how this occurred the officer can be subpoenaed or make a deposition. Your insurance will deal with it.
