Default 03 FatBoy rear seat bracket, remove the screw

I'm trying to mount a luggage rack on my 03 flstf, but it requires the removal of the rear seat mounting bracket bolt and I can't get it out!! It seems pressure sealed in the bracket itself. Please help!!!

The screw holder is held on by a plastic c clip if you are talking about the same thing as me. Remove the plastic clip and the rest will fall out.

Tnx for your response, but i thi we're talking about 2 different things... The part i'm talking about sits under the rear pillion, has two bolts that hold it to the seat, and one screw that's held in place by a small spring. That screw goes directly into the rear fender to hold the seat in place. The problem im having is, i need to remove that screw from the bracket so the luggage rack im trying to mount and the seat bracket will fit together. Once together i can use the screw to fasten both pieces to the fender... Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my '04 FXST. If I remember right, I had to cut the bolt off the seat bracket. I then could use a longer 1/4" standard bolt that would reach thru both brackets. However, the angle was wrong, so I had to elongate the seat bracket hole to the rear. I finally got it all to line up and it is easy to assemble/disassemble now.
Good Luck.....Pete
