I am looking for a winter project, and I have already decided on new cams for sure. But would it be worth the time / money / performance (if any) / mechanical benefit, to convert from chain & tensioners... to cam gear-drive setup? Any advice would be more then appreciated, and thanks in advance!
I would go for the gear drive if I was going in there anyway. CCT seems to be a potential problem down the road. They are the only real concern I have for long term reliability on my TC88. My $.02
It will depend on the year of your bike and your crank run out.
Note: If your bike is the 03 in your profile, it will depend on your crank run out. If your run out is out of spec for gear drive, you could update to the new style tensioners.
