Ok, I spent some time on the forums searching for an answer to my question but didnt find what i was looking for. I just got my Nacelle kit in and for now I have to keep my stock handle bars and risers. I will switch out the bars and risers as cash allows. My question is has any one ever installed the kit with stock risers and bars? I know I have to do a little grinding to make it fit, Im not concerned with rust issuses I live in the southwest where rust isnt a problem. Please post some close up pics if possible. Thanks for your help...
I just finished the installation of my Nacelle kit, so I guess I can answer my own question now. Yes you can use your own original Deluxe handlebars and risers. If you use the original risers you will need to grind the top of the Nacelle halfs so they can fit around the risers, and you wont be able to use the riser cover that comes with the kit. I decided to get new Heritage risers lucky for me the stealership had them in stock, I also used my Deluxe bars which feel really good now with shorter risers. I will soon switch over to some mini apes but for now it feels right. Not to hard of a job to install, the instructions are not to helpful it just takes a bit of common sense which I don't have (haha). Here is a pic of the new Nacelle I just need to adjust the light.
Thanks guys, well the reach isn't that bad Superimo, kind of a drag bar type feeling only better. I have short arms and it feels right for now. And as far as my 21' wheel go's (Malingerer) I had to take it off due to some cracks that I found on the side wall. Still going back and forth with the local shop that sold it to me but I should have back on very soon. It just rides better with the 16".
I remember seeing the posts about the cracks in your tire .Thats why I was curious to see what the cause was.( bad tire etc).Glad its getting worked out for you.
