There is no grove for a clip in the spacer shown and no room to put a clip on. The spacer only goes through the hub cap about 3 **** hairs. I dont know what kept it on all this time.
Well like I said its not the harley chrome one ethier.May be I'm mis speaking or using the wrong terminology by saying groove.May be lip is a better word.Hard to tell by the pic but that spacer seems to have the lip to except the clip to hold the hub cap to the spacer.May be my eyes are playing tricks on me.but if that lip goes trough the cap you should be able to put a retaining clip (cir clip,e clip,c clip) what ever its called they are only like 1-2 ****hair thick .Thats what holds it so tight together so it doesnt move .If it worked before it has to be able to work now.Wish I could be there to help you figure it out and see whats going on in person.

I replied to your PM, Chuck. My hubcap still has the spacer and retainer on it, and I'll send it out to you on Monday. Hopefully it helps.
